Memorial Day Weekend

We had a very busy and fun Memorial Day weekend! Grandma and Grandpa Mangold, Aunt Alicia and Uncle Brett visited Saturday night and Wilson made a point to be awake for a bit so they could spend a little alert time together. Grandpa seemed to have the magic touch and even got a few smiles out of him.

We left early Sunday for Iowa to celebrate Wilson with friends in the afternoon (he got this cute homemade "W" onesie). I wish I had taken more pictures but I think this one would have made the top pick anyway! Here is Wilson with one of his new friends, Gavin (Jessica's son). Gavin made a point to look at the camera and smile whenever it was pointed at him. What a sweetheart.

Lots of family also dropped by later in the day Sunday and Monday - Aunt Barb, Aunt Becky and cousins Max and Will; cousins Franci, Randy and Dan and Uncle Bud also came by to visit. We also stopped by his great, great aunt Vera's to introduce him. It was a good time but very tiring for Wilson who was unusually grouchy early each night. He was so exhausted on Sunday that he slept until 5 a.m.! As far as we're concerned, we consider that sleeping through the night!

The travel itself was long but Wilson was pretty good through most of it. It will continue to get more interesting to travel with him as he gets older and sleeps a little less!
