You may have noticed more and more pictures of Wilson posting with various crafts. During my maternity leave it has been such a challenge to juggle a needy newborn with an energetic, smart little boy. When Evelyn is nursing or having a crying fit, I have to resort to the tv or Wilson's basement play room to keep him occupied. It's not ideal, so I try to spend a little time with him everyday to do something that is all about him. Every day I'll hear, "Mom I want to play a game! which means dragging out a craft or a board game to play (throwing all the rules out the window, mind you). And he loves it.
Use this week as an example. We went to the library to return books and pick out some new ones. We like to go to the "tower" aka gazebo outside the library an
d read our new books and pick the pinecones dropped by the big old tree nearby. The next day we made bird feeders using peanut butter and bird seed. He really liked hanging them up and we look out the window to check to see if the birds are eating from their new feeders.

We also made necklaces and bracelets out of Froot Loops and pipe cleaners. He loved this. Especially eating it afterwards.
