It is so fun to see how Evelyn is developing her little personality.
Although her newfound sign language is helping the amount of her whining, she is definitely a vocal little girl. She knows how to verbalize the word, "please" but only breaks it out on occasion. When I sing her songs, she will often mimic back easy sounds from the song in echo to mine.
She definitely continues to show the spunkiness she had as an infant. She often will push Wilson out of her way. If he gets a little too close or loves on her a little too long she'll let him know it. I think she has a sense of humor. She and Wilson are developing their own little language and seem to crack each other up. Today I caught her playing - truly interactive playing with Wilson. She was playing follow the leader - only she was the leader, intentionally! I thought it was pretty incredible to watch her rally Wilson to follow her and how she would get exasperated and turn around to retrieve him when he didn't follow her directions. I was pretty impressed and also a bit scared by how much she seemed to love having control in the play situation.
She still likes her alone time and often coos happily before and after naps or at bedtime. She likes a little unwinding time and her favorite crib companion is her glow seahorse. Though, she loves to reach through her crib to her toybox and pull anything into her crib that will fit through the crib slats.
She's been sick yesterday and today - enough that Kevin stayed home with her today - but she seems to be on the mend. She's always been kind of a mommy's girl, but like most all babies, she loves even more cuddling when she's not feeling great.
