Wilson had his first school field trip on Friday and I chaperoned.
He and his classmates were so excited to ride a school bus, most of them for the first time. The excitement wore off after an overly thorough bus drill (20 minutes of "kindergarteners, be quiet while I explain this" by the chartered bus driver) and a "long" 45 minute trip, but they did great.
They took a hay ride to the rows where they each got to pick 5 apples. The guide explained that you need to twist and then pull. They had 16,000 bees at the orchard to pollinate the blossoms, but this was a little concerning to the kids who had been instructed to not step on or kick apples on the ground because they could get stung. Luckily, there were no bee stings but lots of screams and swatting by little kids.
Overall, it was a lot of fun. Wilson had a great day but they were all very exhausted at the end. His classmate, Paige, fell asleep on the way home during carpool.
