Saturday Wilson finally learned to ride his bike without training wheels. Evelyn was the one who prompted the lesson and Wilson was nervous. If you would have asked me, I would have guessed Evelyn would be up and at'em in seconds and Wilson would get discouraged. Opposite. These kids surprise me every day.
Went to the local farmers' market. Made crafts and danced to the music.
Father's Day.
Kevin took two of his limos to a Touch a Truck event in the community so we joined him for a bit. Maribel liked the school bus that was there.
The kids went to vacation bible school this week. Wilson's electives were military strategy and tree house for boys. Evelyn chose daughter of the King which was princess-y.
First day of camp.
Waiting for camp to begin one morning.
By the time it was over, we were proud owners of a toad named Joey and tadpole named Lily.
One of Evelyn's electives was called Daughter of the King that had a lot of princess-y stuff that she especially loved. On the last day all the girls had to bring in princess dresses to wear in the forest. Everyone wore sequins, satin and princess gowns but Evelyn chose a cotton maxi dress. I was worried she'd regret her choice but she insisted "it's fine," which is her refrain when she's trying to assert herself. She makes me smile.
I taught Maribel to make funny faces. Mistake.
Sometimes she gets into trouble.
Grandma Williams came for a couple of days.
Maribel and I played outside in the sprinkler, on the playset and went on a bike ride to the park while the kids were at camp.
The ice cream truck found our house.
A few more snaps of Wilson and Evelyn.
