I'm so excited about this. I was inspired by a blog earlier this year to sew an advent calendar. I had been looking for a few years for one that I really loved...and could afford. I didn't find it. So, instead I decided to make a version of what they were charging an arm and a leg for in the stores. I always enjoyed the paper advent calendars growing up as a kid. Even though we recycled the same calendar each year, I always felt like opening the numbered door was like opening a present every day.
This is what inspired me. Each day in December, we will pull a felt ornament out of the numbered pocket and place it on our tree. Each day, there will be a fun message or activity to do together (make ornaments, bake cookies, drink hot cocoa, watch a Christmas movie, etc.) and then as we approach Christmas the notes will be the biblical Christmas story.
I hope this is a tradition the kids will love for years to come.

It's beautiful! I bet it will be a great Mangold tradition.
