Evelyn, Week by Week

Evelyn is 29 weeks! Though you can't see it, she is in her Valentine's sweater.

Boy oh boy this girl does not want to learn how to sit. If you try to sit her down she stiffens up like a board and won't let you bend her at the torso. Instead, she locks her legs and tries to stand. Of course she doesn't have the balance or strength yet, but she doesn't realize that she's not ready to stand and play at her exersaucer or couch, etc. unassisted.

She also just loves her brother. She tries to crawl to get to where he is and will just watch him at play. While he's pretty busy, he always makes time to bring her a toy and hug and talk to her. They are really sweet together. In fact, that's coming in handy. If she's fussy and we're not able to get to her we ask Wilson to entertain her. Brilliant.

Both kids have ear infections and so poor E-Claire is on antibiotics far earlier than I had wanted for her. The important thing is that we caught hers early. They have both been running low fevers for a while and it was getting worrisome. Finally, Wednesday night Wilson cried in his sleep and was holding his ears and acting like he was in pain. This was the only way we knew something was wrong. Every time we asked him how he felt when awake he told us he was okay. That kid.

Kevin's ear infections were legendary. He finally got the "tubes" and never had another ear infection. We were lucky, I didn't know until years later that sometimes the tubes have to be re-done because they fall out before the ear has grown enough to fix the problem.
