Iowa State Fair

Last weekend we took a whirlwind trip to go to the Iowa State Fair. We took all three kids assuming we would just get an hour or two in, but Maribel fared pretty well and even slept in the stroller (miracle!) so we got a fairly decent day in.

This was the first year we did some rides on the Midway which the kids LOVED.

Maribel SCREAMED the whole shuttle bus ride to the fair. Everyone around us was so kind about it (only in Iowa) and when we were 2 minutes from the fair Kevin told me to take off her shoes because she'd been pulling on them (which she always does). The second I took them off she stopped crying. Everyone on the bus laughed.

Evelyn reeally wanted to milk a cow, but we avoided the long line and instead went to the "pet a calf" line. She loved this, despite her expression here.

Grandpa's Farm (just realized it was my friend who brought this attraction to life!)

Wilson was mad he wasn't the bigger chicken.

On top of the giant ferris wheel. At first none of us were sure about the height thing. We all held hands really tight. Until midway through when Evelyn decided she didn't need to anymore.
View from the top.
We didn't ride the sky lift this year but we liked to look up at it.

She fell asleep while we were at Grandpa's Farm.
