This was Wilson's last full week of summer break from school as he starts 2nd grade on Wednesday. Evelyn starts Kindergarten the following Monday.
We went miniature golfing.
When we were done the kids came running to us and Evelyn stepped on Wilson's flip flop, resulting in a nasty owie on her knee and cheek.
We made fun foamy paint ice cream cones.
We got fish. The kids named them Mr. Fish, Bluetoon Rosey and Pishy (how Maribel says fishy).
Went camping in our backyard, though Maribel and I left after "lights out" as she just couldn't get quite comfortable (mom was a bit grateful having already been chewed up by mosquitos). We tried to see the meteor shower but the skies were a little too bright to see anything much.
Decided to catch a pretty sunset.
Blanched and froze a couple dozen ears of corn for winter.
Went to Wilson and Evelyn's first Cubs game. They had a great time, but it was pretty hot and we didn't quite make it through the whole game. Evelyn was so hot and tired from camping she even slept through a few innings! But after that they were done.
