We're scheduled for a 7:30 a.m. induction tomorrow! We're nervous and excited, and ready to meet Baby Girl Mangold.I had my last ultrasound Wednesday and final OB appointment today. There was a little drama with each appointment and it seems to be a roller coaster ride right up until the "end." I'm praying all of the health scares and concerns end once she's here.
At the ultrasound with my high risk specialist my blood pressure was rising and he wanted it checked at least once before the induction. At my OB appointment today my blood pressure was in a better place, but I was thrown for a loop when my contractions - those every-two-minutes-for-four-weeks-straight contractions - had all but slowed to a sporadic trickle! So, right around my due date, labor stops?!!
But, much more serious was that the baby's heart rate wasn't rising at all and when they "buzzed" her it would only rise momentarily when they normally like to see it stay raised for a period of time.
I could see my doctor pondering what to do when after about 20-30 minutes on the machine she had 2-3 nice heart rate changes. She said, "I'll be glad when you have your baby. I like seeing you every week, but you make me nervous." She said she was ready to send me to labor and delivery before the positive changes and thought the induction tomorrow morning would still be fine, but I could come in tonight and do it if I preferred. Of course the implied "choice" stressed me out and I'm wondering if I will get any sleep tonight!
We can't wait to update you all with baby news tomorrow!
